Warren Lee  Cook, Sr., 81, of Paeonian Springs, passed away on May 3, 2008 at the Veterans Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV. He is survived by his wife Gladys M. Cook; sons Steve McKinley Cook of Maryland and Warren L. Cook, Jr. of Paeonian Springs, VA; ihs daughter Nina Cook Caesar of Paeonian Springs, VA; grandchildren Corey Cook of Salt Lake City Utah, Darnel Cook of Atlanta, GA; Chasity Cook of NC; Keionna Lewis of Paeonian Springs, VA; Stuart Cook of MD; Robert Cook, Jr. of Herndon, VA; Cleon Williams of Leesburg, VA. He is also survived by brothers Howard Cook of Herndon, VA; Earl Cook of Hamilton, VA; Sterling Cook of Springfield, VA; Roosevelt Cook of Sterling, VA; and Alfred Cook of Reston, VA; sisters Genevie Lynch of Silver Spring, MD; Marie Hammond of Vienna, VA; Louise Virginia Cook of Oxon Hill, MD; Marie Hammond of Vienna, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Cater Cook. Friends may call on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Leesburg, VA. Funeral services will be held on May 10, 2008 at 11:00 am at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Interment at Mt. Morris Baptist Church Cemetery, Hume, VA. Arrangements by Lyles Funeral Service of Purcellville, VA.

Jajuan Dimitri Johnson “Murphy,” 21, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. He was born on May 26, 1986 to Frances Pauline Chinn and Brian Carter Jackson. He attended Heritage High School where he played football. Murphy had three hobbies, drawing, making music and telling a joke. His favorite words were “just relax mom”. Murphy leaves to cherish his memory his twin brother Jaruan Johnson, (Jr) and brothers, Jonte Johnson, Corey and Andrew; his sisters, Jataia, Jasmine, Rikita, Crystal, Monesha, Jordan, Brittney, and Courtney. He is also survived by his grandfather Paul Johnson, Sr., his grandmother, Geraldine Fisher, his step father, Roland Chinn, his step Moms, Jacquelin Day and Camala Wright; plus a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, other family and friends and his dog “Max”. Murphy was predeceased by his grandmother Lola Mae Johnson, Grandfather, Ronnie Anderson, aunt Mamie Johnson, and uncle Andie Fisher. Friends may call on Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 11am until the time of service at 12 noon, at First Mount Olive Baptist Church, 216 Loudoun Street, Leesburg, VA, with Rev. Dr. Harold S. Stinger officiating. Interment will follow in Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, VA. Arrangements by Loudoun Funeral Chapel, Leesburg, VA.

Captain Wallin Dodd Holtgren, 79, of Sterling, VA, died Thursday, April 24th, 2008 in Washington D.C.  Wallin Holtgren was born on September 16th, 1928 in Passaic, NJ.  He was the only son of the late Walter Oscar Holtgren and the late Emma Catherine Taylor Holtgren.  Captain Holtgren graduated in 1951 from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY.  He served his country in the US Navy obtaining the rank of Commander. In the early 1960’s, Wallin went to work for OSHA with the Dept of Labor in Washington D.C.  He then went to work for the Naval Sea Systems Command until his retirement in 1986. During his career, he enjoyed working part time as Captain and Engineer for various boat companies on the DC waterfront including the Wilson Line and being a member of the Potomac River Pilots Association.  Capt. Holtgren was recently preceded in death by his wife Ellen Holtgren on April 1st, 2008.  He is survived by his son Walter Dodd Holtgren and wife Kimberly of Crofton, MD; his daughter Pamela Mary Holtgren of Sterling, VA; and by his two grandchildren Kyle McKain Holtgren and Kerra Morgan Holtgren.  A Celebration of Capt. Holtgren's life will be held at Capital Yacht Charters at 3:00pm on May 18, 2008 located at Yacht Basin No.1, Washington Marina, 1300 Maine Ave., SW in DC. Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Capt. Holtgren’s memory to the WRAMC Fisher House #56, c/o Fisher House Manager, 6900 Georgia Ave, NW Washington, DC 20307. Arrangements by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, Leesburg, VA.
